Our Team

Miss Saphii - PRINCIPAL 

Miss Saphii grew up in Dorset where she attended the dance school herself  (formally knows as LA Dance Academy).

Saphii trained in ballet, tap and modern jazz completing BTDA exams and always achieving exceptionally high standards. She also performed in pantomimes, competitions and shows as well as being an assistant dance teacher for several years. 

Saphii then went on to further her training in London completing a Degree in Dance in West London. She has had a wide range of experience as a performer where she travelled to Mallorca to perform as part of the entertainment team and co choreographer of the shows. 

Saphii then decided teaching was her calling and started teaching in  London as well as studying to be a personal trainer and fitness coach. After missing the beautiful south coast, she decided to move back to Dorset where she was head of early years and assistant choreographer for one of the largest stage schools in Dorset. Saphii also embarked on her teaching course with BTDA as well as becoming a qualified Acrobatic Arts teacher. 

This is when the exciting opportunity to take over the LA Dance Academy came about. Saphii now runs The Sapphire Stage Academy and teaches all styles of performing arts.

Miss Katie - Head of Singing 

Miss Katie is a full time singer, songwriter & music tutor from The New Forest, Hampshire. Recently her original songs have been featured on BBC introducing, Radio Wimborne, Hope fm, The Global Voice, Voice FM, VYPR radio, Forest fm, Blues and Roots Radio & FATEA (music magazine). Katie also performs regularly at festivals & functions such as - Vdub Island Festival, WOMAD, Sidmouth Folk Festival, Vdub at The Pub, Wickham Festival, Freezone Festival, Rag City Fest & The New Forest Folk Festival.

After completing a BA (hons) Degree from the (British Institute of Modern Music, London) she decided to start teaching at various performing arts schools. Katie has experience & training in contemporary vocals, musical theatre & classical singing. She is also currently hired by Absolute Music to teach guitar & vocals in local schools.

Miss Gemma - Acrobatics teacher & Dance teaching assistant 

Miss Gemma has trained in ballet, tap,  modern and acro since she was 18 months old. Miss Gemma has achieved various BTDA examinations in ballet, tap modern and acrobatics. She has performed for her whole life in local dance shows and cabarets with her dance school for 14 years!! 

Miss Gemma has a wide range of teaching experience and has assisted dance classes for many years. Recently she has embarked on becoming a qualified in Acrobatic Arts. Miss Gemma now teaches Acro classes as well as assisting various classes.

Miss Amy - Dance Teacher and Assistant 

Miss Amy has recenetly joined the team as a teacher and  assistant to Miss Saphii. She has trained from a very young age in ballet, tap modern,  acro and recently completed a 2 year dance course at college. Miss Amy has performed in all the dance academy shows and taking all her exams from pre primary - grade 6: always achieving amazingly high results . Miss Amy is now embarking on an exciting journey as she completes her teacher assiant training with BTDA and teacher training with acrobatic arts. 

Miss Amy now teaches adult tap, musical theatre dance, street dance and lyrical as well as assisting Miss Saphii and is loving being part of the team.
